If crossword puzzles are the classic example of a word fill in puzzle, then the game of Soduku would stand out as a classic puzzle where you fill in the numbers to complete a 9X9 grid. The rules of Soduku are simple but therein lies the challenge. That 9X9 grid is broken down into four sections 3X3 in size. Your job is to complete the grid filling in numbers between one and nine in each of the blank boxes. You must complete the rows and columns completely but there are two challenges. One is that some of the numbers will come already filled in. The second is you cannot repeat a number either up and down or horizontally. As simple as the design of Soduku its amazing that the scale of difficulty for various editions of the puzzle is so diverse. But that is one of the great things about the game because as simple and elegant as it is in design, you can always keep moving up in levels of difficulty and find another plateau where you will have to work hard to win and even lose from time to time before your powers of logical number arrangement rise to the challenge. The great thing about working puzzles like Soduku what call for you to fill in a grid with numbers is that the task is simple and entertaining but you don't need to have an advanced intellect to enjoy and win at playing these puzzles. By starting at a simple level, you build your interest and skills as you move up the scales of difficulty that are available in Soduku puzzles. These puzzles are great brain workouts and as you have fun with them, you are building your powers of concentration, your pattern recognition and you logical processing ability. Because Soduku is so diverting, you can literally wile away hours trying one puzzle after the next. This makes these kinds of puzzle perfect for a long plane flight or to give the kids during a car trip. All you have to have on hand is a good supply of puzzles at the right challenge level for each child, some pencils with erasers and some clipboards. The kids will have a blast trying to complete each puzzle.

You can find them in abundance for free on the internet to download and print on your computer. You can even find software for your computer or web sites that will let you design your own puzzles. So there is no reason you can't jump into the Soduku craze and start having fun and learning the tricks of winning at Soduku. It might become a passion that will stick with you for life.
